Disability Access Solutions has distinguished itself as a leader and subject matter expert in the field of emergency preparedness for people with disabilities. Statewide data indict individuals with disabilities and older adults are 2-4 times more likely to not survive or be seriously injured in disasters, yet their needs are often ignored. Louisiana’s repeated disasters expose vulnerable groups — those with mobility, health, sensory, or behavioral challenges — to severe risks. Lack of proper supports before, during, and after disasters can lead to institutionalization or worsening health outcomes. Our services fill these gaps, providing tailored support to help people with disabilities stay connected to vital resources and remain safe after disasters.
