Emergency Preparedness Tips Sheet

for People with Disabilities

Thinking about the “what ifs” can feel overwhelming — and that’s completely understandable. Preparing for emergencies can seem like a big task, especially when you’re not sure where to start. But taking small, simple steps throughout the year can make a real difference.

That’s why we created this Emergency Preparedness Tips Sheet for People with Disabilities — to help you and your family feel more confident and prepared, one step at a time.

We’ve broken preparedness into four manageable parts — one for each quarter of the year:

  • Quarter 1 (January – March): Create an Emergency Plan

  • Quarter 2 (April – June): Build a Go Bag/Stay Kit

  • Quarter 3 (July – September): Develop a Communication Plan

  • Quarter 4 (October – December): Review & Refresh

You don’t have to do everything at once. Preparedness isn’t about perfection — it’s about progress. Whether you’re just getting started or updating a plan you already have, this tips sheet is here to support you every step of the way.

Download it, share it with others, and use it as a guide to stay ready all year long.
